Question by everythinggirl33: Are you for or against patent infringement?
“Patent infringement” refers to making and selling fake designer goods. I am not quite sure about my views on this issue, but I wanted to hear others viewpoints on it.

I think it’s wrong to mooch off of someone else’s idea and claim it as your own. I strongly disapprove of replica designer stuff, you could just find the real brand on ebay if you tried.

  1. Linda S the real one. accept no imitations! Says:

Totally against. Anyone who thinks it’s okay: think about what it’s like for the person who has had a design ripped off. it’s not pleasant. It’s pisses me off every time I see cheap copies of something that I came up with ten years ago. It’s to the point where people see my original item and pass them by because the cheap imports copies fit so poorly and look so cheap. How would you feel if someone ripped off one of your ideas or something that you have worked hard to originate and make and then do it so poorly that it destroys your original’s reputation? It’s not a good feeling. Trust me.

Also remember that a patent infringement law suite can be a David-versus-Goliath confrontation. Defendants in patent infringement lawsuits are usually large corporations with unlimited resources, while plaintiffs in patent infringement lawsuits are often individuals or small businesses with very limited resources.
